Anthony Mankona – Livelihood Empowerment/Social Intervention Manager

 

Anthony has close to ten years work experience in development practice, working on diverse community based livelihood restoration projects. After completing his national service with the then external affairs department of Newmont Ghana’s Ahafo mine project, he secured a permanent employment in 2010 with Intersocial consulting Limited and later the Organization for Livelihood Enhancement Services (OLIVES), an Irish consulting firm and a Ghanaian based NGO respectively, to implement various community sustainability projects for Newmont Ghana at a newly developed mine at Akyem in the eastern region of Ghana for five (5) years.

 

He subsequently joined ProfAg consultancy under the environment and sustainability department of Newmont Ahafo to implement an agribusiness and livelihood enhancement projects dubbed Asutifi Processing and Service Center and Limited Irrigation Support project all geared towards improving the livelihood of persons affected by the mine’s operations.

 

He holds a Bsc in Agribusiness from the University of Ghana, Legon and an Msc in Development Management from the Kwame Nkrumah University and Science and Technology. He further holds to his credit development related course certificates from the University of Western Australia and the World Bank Group.
