The exercise which is a four weeks’ activity is on the theme: A CLEAN ENVIRONMENT; EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY.

The district environmental health director, Mr. Amos Mintim stated that, though environmental maintenance is the responsibility of the government, however, it is time for individuals and organizations within the community to play complementary roles to support effort. He urged the market women to clean their places of trade every evening before departing for home. “we appeal to the community people to desist from littering the environment and reduce the use of polythene bags and carrier bags when they visit the market”. He added.

The representative of the District Chief Executive, Mr. Isaac Addo, expressed gratitude to Bryan Acheampong Foundation (BAF) for such a wonderful exercise which has never happened in the Kotoso Community.

Mr. Addo said, it is important for stakeholders to mitigate pollution which has become a global canker due to indiscriminate dumping of refuse into drains and at unauthorized places.

He underscored the need to safeguard the environment from pollution as its effects threatened human health. He advised the community people to refrain from unhealthy habits towards the environment and always ensure that they keep their surroundings clean to promote good health.
